Dr. Beena is engaged in teaching as well as in research  in the department of chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at Amritapuri campus. She received her Ph. D. in 2011 from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in the area of electrochemical sensors for the determination of metal ions. During her Ph.D. period, as part of the DST INDO-POLISH project, she could also work at the Polish Academy Sciences, Poland.
